Speak UP! Forum > TWiRT Guests - Who would you like us to interview?
Geoff Mendenhall
RF Burns
Frank Foti
BofH
Bob Orban, Frank Foti, Cornelius Gould, Jeff Keith, Marvin Caesar - all on the same show talking about processing - it could probably be an entire series!
RP
in a similar vein, but in a class all by himself for the 'bit reduced audio' realm -
James, “JJ” Johnston (DTS) - father of perceptual audio coding
RP
Maybe a show with three of for contract engineers and the issues they have to deal with and
some small market engineers and the day to day challenges they face.
RWV
I agree on the audio processing topic - Frank and Bob on the same show discussing their approaches, and audio processing for HDRadio and DAB+
Peter Smerdon
How about Daniel Berg Chief Tech Officer from Skype. As much as it's used on the show his input could be of great interest.
Dave Peterson
Steve Brown from woodward communications in Appleton,wi showing off his vintage transmitter collection
Dan
Steve's a great guy. He probably has some good stories about restoring those!
Chris Tarr
Bob Heil or Bob Orban!
Bob Holowenko - VE7WNK
I'd like to see / hear Bob Heil on.
Andy
Steve Church. He has such a long experience in the field.
David
Bob Heil would be great
Dan
I'd like to hear an interview with Peter who posts about AM directional antenna systems and AM frequency assignments on Barry's broadcast list. He seems to have an encyclopaedic mind on this subject.
Thanks,
Tom

I used to hang out in the radio broadcast community in Berkeley, CA the SF Bay Area in the 70;s. I had a stereo store and a small recording studio and was a member of AES and went occasionally to NAB happenings. All the local engineers came in and bought stuff ,and sold stuff, and bs'ed at my store. Haven't seen them for years, but some are still around.
Art Lebermann was the chief engineer at KRE in Berkeley, and another customer of mine was the chief at KDFC in SF.
They would be great for a War Stories broadcast or more.
They are now trying to build a radio broadcasting museum at the site of the old KRE studio/xmtr in Berkeley as California Historical Radio Museum.

Hi guys
I'd like to see you interview David Stuart VK3ASE here in Melbourne Australia. David is a freelance sound recording tecnician by day but come saturday nights he and his friends have been doing quasi-broadcastiong for the past 35 years on 160 AM and 80m sideband. His transmiter and antenna setup are almost broadcast quality and his console is an old 3LO console. He is an ex announcer also so sounds ok on air.
These days the broadcasts are a little less crazy than back in the 70s but the onair ham talkback would put much commercial talkback to shame. Listeners can call in via a variety of frequencies or call in via Skype. You could even call in via Skype from the USA (search on 'Preston' or vk3ase).
Talk is cheap, Listen at 10.30P.M. Saturday nights local time on the on air streaming link from anywhere in the world.

Live stream (old recordings 24 hours per day but live missions some saturdays).

I suggert you email Dave first to see if here will be live missions on the saturday you listen in. Remember to adjust for the time difference - it will probably be early saturday morning your time.
cheers
